A Christening Card

Monday, 4 May 2009

Here's a card I made for a friend whose baby was being christened yesterday. I followed the lovely sketch from Sketch Saturday:

And here's my card:

Photobucket

I used the gorgeously cute Ellie stamp from Stamposaurus Stamps which I coloured with my pro-markers. I used dp from Craft Creations and ran the pink piece through my cuttlebug swiss dots folder (I don't use that enough!) I cut the image with my oval nesties with a scalloped oval behind and doodled some dots with my white glaze pen. A wee bit of pink gingham ribbon, a few punched flowers and a bit more doodling and there you have it!

Here's a close-up of Ellie:

I followed an element of the sketch for the inside too:

Oh, I forgot about the little crystal flower on the front, you can sort of make it out here, it really added a bit of sparkle to the card!

Photobucket

So there you are, I hope you liked it! I'm still up to my eyes with my friends wedding invitations so not sure when I'll have another card to show. But I'll try to keep up with my hopping in the meantime!

Happy crafting!

Mother's Day Tag

Tuesday, 24 March 2009

I almost forgot about this!!

I made a snazzy tag to go with the card for my mum for mother's day. I used my flower nesties through my cuttlebug and edged them with distress inks and a line of clear stardust pen. I added a couple of daisy punches and Swarovski crystals for the centre of the flowers - the biggest flower has a huge crystal!! I mounted it all on to a square of corresponding card with a length of ribbon to attach it to the pressie. I made a tag and stamped with a mother's day sentiment. A few leafy punched shapes and Bob's your uncle!

It was a little odd that she didn't want to open the present!! lol!

It fits a few challenges.

One Stop Craft Challenge want to see a tag on your work.

ABC are up to F and want to see flowers.

And Cuttlebug Challenges - be inspired - want to see you use punches along with your bug.

An Anniversary Card

Tuesday, 17 February 2009

My brother and his girlfriend have been "going out" for a year now, and he wanted a card for her. I thought a rose would be nice for the occassion and decided to use my Serendipity rose stamp.

I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday

Photobucket

and I made this

I coloured the rose with my water colour pencils and edged each petal with clear sakura stardust pen. I also embossed the same image with holographic EP on a panel and embossed another panel with my swiss dots cuttlebug folder. I edged each piece with gold EP and added a couple of Swarovski crystals to the centre of the roses.
I attached a heart charm to a couple of cut out circles on the inside.

The card also fits the challenge set this week at ABC which is anniversary.

It also fitted a couple of other challenges if I had have had the picture of the card on time to enter them...oh well.

I hope you like it!

I'd also like to send my condolences to the Galligan family after their sad loss at the week-end.

Pink Sunshine!

Yet another challenge card - I'm loving these!

This time I followed the gorgeous sketch from Sketch Saturday.
Here it is:

Photobucket

I think I'll use that one again as it's so lovely!

And to fit another challenge in I went for Arty Girlz challenge which is called "Button It!" - speaks for itself really!

So here my try..

Photobucket

I was much happier with the finished card this time than I was with my last card - although I think it looks better IRL - always the way!

I used backing papers from Glitz Design and Rayher and Core'dinations - all bought at a local craft shop.
I ran the punched circle of core'dinations through my cuttlebug and then sanded the embossed bits slightly.

I also added a floradoodle bought from Joanna Sheen's shop and added a button (from stash - probably off a coat or something!) and a little dress charm from MAC.

I finished it off with a few brads from stash - (I don't know where I got them, I just emptied them into my brad box!) and my very-much-used "Happy Birthday" stamp by Anita's.

I thinks that's that all covered. I almost made a card using no stamps at all, but then I added the Happy Birthday!

Here's the inside:

I hope you like it!

I'm feeling blue...

In a creative way of course!!

I wanted to make a card for the Sketch and Stash debut challenge and I thought I could fit some other challenges in around it too.

This is the sketch from Sketch and Stash:

Photobucket

You also need to use new or unused stash for this challenge - no problems there then!

I used the colour challenge on Our Creative Corner which was to use 2 blues and 1 neutral.

I also tried the Spoonful of Sugar challenge which is paper piecing. I've never done this before so I hope what I've done is correct.

So here's my card

Photobucket

I've turned the sketch by 90 degrees. My new stash is my "Reflection" stamp from Pollycraft. Also the flower which is papermania that I bought in the MAC pound shop. Also the label nestibilities set which I used is new.

The clothes on the elf are paper pieced using DCWV paper from the "Rockstar" and "Once Upon a Time" stacks. And the rest is coloured with H2O's and distress inks (one of which is also new!)

I embossed the strip down the card with my floral fantasy embossing folder which I have since discovered makes the card fit 2 other challenges!! High Hopes challenge is dry embossing and the Cuttlebug challenge is to use your favourite folder - which this is!

That must be a record!! 5 challenges in one!

Here's the inside of the card

Another card that I thoroughly enjoyed making!

I hope you liked it too.
