Happy 2nd Birthday Ryan!

Yesterday was my wee nephew's 2nd birthday - I can't believe he's 2 already! Where has the time gone?!
He loves loads of different characters (some I've never heard of!) But one of his favourites is Brum!

Here's my card

I used the sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers

I found this digi stamp at Mo's Digital Pencil and thought it was perfect for him! I added the word "Brum" myself. And I coloured it with my trusty promarkers.

I stitched around each mat with my sewing machine.

It also fits the challenge at The Corrosive Challenge blog, which is to make a kids birthday card.

Papers are from the Basic Grey Cupcake paper pad. Sentiments are computer generated.

When Ryan tore the envelope off he was so excited to see Brum and tried to take it off the card!! Good thing I had done the decoupage the night before, so the glue gel was well and trully hardened!

Happy Birthday Da!

It was my Dad's birthday last friday, so I had a dreaded man's card to make!
I turned to my trusty Flippin' Men decoupage. I hardly ever use decoupage, so it was a nice change to use something different.

My da is big into golf, so I used the Golf Flippin' man - even though the character actually looks more like one of my dad's golfing friends!

Here is my card

I noticed on the Basic Grey Challenge that the current challenge is to add some embossing. I hope this counts as I actually flipped the embossed circle over to show the debossed side as I thought it looked more like a golf ball!

The Basic Grey papers I used are from the archaic paper pad.

Here's the inside with the back of the golfer:

I coloured the pint with a clear sakura stardust pen just to make it look like it's fizzing!

Sketch Saturday Challenge

I made this card for a friend whose birthday was yesterday - so hopefully she's got her card now and I can show you here!

I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday for this one.

And here is my card

I used the gorgeous fairy downloads from Charmed cards and crafts. I coloured her and her mushrooms with my promarkers and decoupaged the fairy

I also used my favourite Martha Stewart border punch.

Fairly basic inside again - but I'm slowly but surly getting back into decorating the inside!

A Thank You Card

I was asked to make 2 thank you cards for 2 male tutors.
I didn't quite know what to do, but as I was looking through my stamps , I was inspired by the name of one of my Sugar Nellies.

This is what I came up with:

I made them both pretty much the same, just slightly different colours. I coloured the image with my promarkers. I also decoupaged the girl and then the hat again.

I wrote the sentiment (which is the name of the stamp) onto a Tim Holtz ticket

And then put the thank you note on the very plain inside

And finished it off in a box

No challenges this time.

Typical Man!

This was a card I made for a friend who turned 30 last week. This fantastic Flippin' Men image (which is by far my favourite one!) suits him down to the ground!

I liked this Basic Grey paper for the background as it reminds me of wallpaper you'd see in the toilets of an old Irish pub!! Which is where you're likely to find the recipient!! You can see where I glittered the wording with Sakura clear stardust pen, I also glittered the pint for effect, although you can't really see it here.

Another Wedding card with money wallet.

I made a card for my ma 'n' da to give to my cousin - who got married yesterday.

I actually used decoupage on the card - and not a stamp in sight!! I've had this decoupage sheet for ages and thought if I don't use it now I never will!!
Here's the card:

I followed the sketch from Mojo Monday

I thought it went perfectly with the twisted decoupage! (which looks a little skew wif here - it must be the angle I took the photo at.... no, really!)

And I continued the sketch on the inside:

I made this money wallet to go with the card:

The wedding went really well and they all looked stunning! The weather was good too, although it was a bit windy.
I was exhausted, partly because I was still making some last minute order of service booklets the night before!
Now I need to get stuck in to make the invitations for my best friends wedding - this is the first time I've had 2 weddings in one year - stressed is not the word!!
