Buzzing By To Say Hi!

Monday, 25 August 2014

 Hi Everyone!

One of the things I like to do is watch TV while I craft.  I bought the box set of The Sopranos ages ago and I struggled for a long time to get into it.  So many people raved about it when it was on.  But, I persevered and I have to say that now I'm quite enjoying it!  I'm just at the end of the first series, but I'm liking it now.

We have a new challenge up today at Seems A Little Sketchy and our sponsor for this week is Lacy Sunshine

http://lacysunshine.weebly.com/
And they're offering 3 digi's to our winner.

We have a really cute sketch for you this time...

 http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.uk/

Here's what I did..

The image is by Lacy Sunshine called Sweet Lil Bumblebee and I coloured her with the following Copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair & Clothes; 100,C9,5. Clothes & flowers; Y17,15,13. Flowers; YG07,05,03,RV23,21. Sky; B00,0000. Blender.  I then cut the image out with Spellbinders circle dies.

The papers are Pink Petticoat - Honeycomb bees from the Isabelline set and Doodle in Goldenrod from the Spookie Doodles set.  I had little bumblebee buttons in my stash and I cut the loops off the back with pliers before attaching to ribbon from my stash.  The ribbon was black with white dots and I didn't like the white dots with the card, so here's a wee tip; I used a yellow Sharpie to colour the white dots yellow!  (They look kind of fluorescent in the pic but I think that's just from the light cos it doesn't look so bright really.) The gem stickers are also from my stash.

I used Powerpoint to make a bumblebee flight path and added a sentiment using the font AR Hermann.

So please pop over to the Seems A Little Sketchy blog to check out what the rest of the DT have done and don't forget to join in!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge Blog; Warm, sunshiney colours
Bunny Zoe's Challenge Blog; Summer colours
Stamp & Create Challenges; Anything goes
The Corrosive Challenge Blog; B unique - 3 B's= Bumblebees, black, bling.
Top Tip Tuesday; Anything goes

Dream Home

Thursday, 14 August 2014

Hi everyone,

I'm a few days late getting my post done as one of my work colleagues died very unexpectedly at the weekend.  I work at my families business and everyone there feels a bit like family whether I'm related to them or not!  So it was such a shock to hear about Charlie.  He will be missed.

We have a new challenge over at Seems A Little Sketchy and our sponsor for this fortnight is QKR Stampede
http://www.qkrstampede.com/

Our sketch this time looks a little something like this...

Rotate it, flip it, stretch it, squash it, as long as we can see the sketch!

Here's what I did:

My image is by QKR Stampede and I used the following Copics: BV04,0000,RV23,21,10, Blender.  I then cut it out with a Spellbinders circle die and mounted it on a big scallop circle die-cut.

For a change I made it into an A5 card and I made the background by placing strips of double sided tape onto a pre-cut square and then coated the tape with some lovely clear glamour dust.  The sentiment was computer generated using the font Cardinal Alternative and then I cut the banners out by hand.  The ribbon and gems are from my stash, the corners are by Prima.

For the inside I copied the sketch again and for some reason I could not get a decent picture of the inside!  This is the best of a bad lot!

So please pop over to Seems A Little Sketchy to check out what the rest of our lovely DT have made and have a go at it yourself!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Bearly Mine Challenges; Anything goes
Crafty Girls Challenges: Anything goes
Creative Fingers Challenge Blog; Anything goes
Cute Card Thursday; Clean & simple
Stamp & Create: Anything goes
The Squirrel & The Fox: Anything goes

Slightly Steampunk

Tuesday, 29 July 2014

Hi everyone!

It's been tough going for the past week or so, with the heat!  I don't know how people who live in hot countries cope every year!!  Thank God the last couple of nights have been a teensy bit cooler and I've been able to sleep a bit.  That's 2 years in a row that we've actually had a bit of a summer, even if they were only short ones! lol!

We have a new challenge up today on Seems A Little Sketchy and we have a fab sponsor in Teri at Delicious Doodles!

http://deliciousdoodles.blogspot.co.uk/
Teri is offering 4 digi's as a prize to our lucky winner!

The sketch for you for this fortnight is...

http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.uk/

A nice simple one for you, but it's amazing what some people can do with just a few elements!

Here's what I did..

The fab image 'Steampunk Mermaid' was provided by our sponsor Delicious Doodles and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair;E49,39,R39,YR24,23. Tail etc.;E37,35,33,29,27,25,23,09,08,07,04. Rock;BV04,W5. Eyes;YG23. Sky;BV0000,RV10,blender. Sea;YR02,RV11
I wasn't entirely happy with my colouring on this one but considering it is the first thing I've coloured in well over 3 months I suppose I can tolerate it!

I used my new wavy die from volume one of the Doohickey Club Magazine to cut waves out of a sheet of copper - a proper metal copper sheet!  I've had this for years but was afraid to use it.  I added some different metal eyelets along the edge and in the corner with my crop-a-dile.  I cut out 3 little strips of the copper and ran it through my paper crimper which worked a treat on it as it is so thin!

For the inside, I used the waste from cutting the wave for the front and I also cut a Memory Box Majestic Anchor from the copper sheet, attaching it with glossy accents and an eyelet.
The sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps from the Film Strip Sentiments set.

I do hope you can join us at some point in the next two weeks over at Seems A Little Sketchy, go check out what the rest of the DT have done for more inspiration!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

A Step In The Dark; Anything goes/Use some metal
Bearly Mine Challenges; Lets go digital
Delicious Doodles Challenges; Anything goes with DD image
Eureka Stamps; Swimming
Left Of Centre Challenges; Black & White plus one - Copper
QKR Stampede; Swimming
The Sisterhood Of Crafters; Die Cuts

Full Of The Joys Of Spring!

Monday, 7 April 2014

 Good morning peeps!

I can't believe the first episode of Game Of Thrones Series 4 was on last night and I still haven't seen it!  Well, it was on at 2am!  I'll have to check if they're doing that every week or just for the first one, I might stay up to watch it "live" next week! :)

So on to today's card which is for the new challenge at Seems A Little Sketchy and our sponsor for this fortnight is Robyn's Fetish
http://robynsfetish.com/
And they're offering 3 digi's to our winner!

Here's the sketch for this challenge:

http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.uk/

I rotated the sketch anti-clockwise and ended up with this...

The cute image is called Lily Lamb and was supplied by Robyn's Fetish.  I coloured her with the following Copics: C3,2,1,10,6. R21,00. Collar;YG97,95,93. Bell;Y15,13,11,E43. Ground;E49,31,G21,03,13,17,97,95. Sky;B91, blender. And I used some snow white acrylic paint here and there too.

The papers I have used are Prima; Alla-Prima.  The dies are..Spellbinder circles, Magnolia Grass and Picket Fence Doohickey's and Memory Box Summer Kites.  The ribbon and raffia are from my stash.  I printed the sentiment using the font Curlz and went over it with a glitter pen.

I followed the basics of the sketch for the inside along with paper from the same pad and an addition of a wee daisy from my stash.

So that's my card, I hope you can join us this fortnight at Seems A Little Sketchy, go and check out the rest of the DT's work for more inspiration.

Forget Me Not

Monday, 24 March 2014

Hya!

I hope you're all well?  The weather here today is wild!  I nearly blew away when I got out of my car at work this morning, it didn't seem just as bad at home, but I suppose that's what you get when you work on top of a mountain! lol!
It's time for a new challenge today at Seems A Little Sketchy and we have a fab sponsor for you for this fortnight, with gorgeous images by Aurora Wings.

 https://www.etsy.com/shop/AuroraWings?utm_source=convo&utm_medium=trans_email&utm_campaign=convo_html
They are offering a $15 voucher to one lucky winner!

Here's the sketch for you to follow for this challenge:
 http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.uk/

And here's what I did:

The image is by our sponsor, Aurora Wings and is called Forget-Me-Not.  I really enjoyed colouring her and I used the following Copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Lips;R21,20,00. Eyes;BV04,00,0000. Hair;E47,44,43,41. Flowers;BV04,00,0000,YG03. Dress;YG17,13,03. Background;V000.

The papers are Lillibet papers and they are textured like canvass so they are lovely!  I used a metal ruler to help me tear the top layer of card so as it wouldn't fray too much.  I used a truck-load of dies (OK, it's a very small truck!) Spellbinders circles, Impression Obsession; Rolled Roses, Memory Box; Chloe Stem & Cherry Blossom.  I added some swarovski's to the centre of the cherry blossoms (but as I cut them out of the lavender card I think I get away with them being forget-me-nots!) and some more diamante's to the head of the stem and the corner of the card.

The inside is fairly simple and uses a basic version of the sketch with the same papers and a computer generated sentiment using the font Angelina.

I hope you like my card and the fabby sketch - pop over to the Seems A Little Sketchy blog to check out some more inspiration from the rest of the DT and to join in yourself!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Lady's Day

Monday, 24 February 2014

 Good morning all!

I can't believe it's been over a week since my lovely day getting pampered with my mum and wee sister!  It won't be long til the next one though! ;P

We have a new challenge today at Seems A Little Sketchy and our sponsor for this fortnight is the very fabulous Lacy Sunshine!
http://lacysunshine.weebly.com/
They're offering 3 digi's to our winner!

The sketch for this challenge looks like this
http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.uk/

And here is my card - I rotated the sketch once clockwise

The image is 1920's Winter Lizabeth, provided by our sponsor Lacy Sunshine and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair & Fur;E49,47,44,43. Coat;E15,13,11. Dress;RV34,32. Surround;E33,31. Rubies;R39,29,E09. Plus a Sakura metallic gellyroll gold pen for the headband and brooch.

The papers I have used are First Edition Desert Blooms, the background one has a lovely shimmery embossed detail on it.  I used a diamante strip across the top and to tone down the silver, I wrapped it with gold thread.  I also used a red copic on the diamantes to make them rubies to match the image.  The Prima butterfly, feathers and swarovski's are from my stash.

I used the sketch again on the inside and just used the gold thread this time, instead of the diamante strip.

So that's my card, I hope you can join us this fortnight, please take a trip over to the Seems A Little Sketchy Blog to check out the rest of the DT's fab work!

 Evening everyone!

I hope you're all safe and warm away from the awful weather (if you're around the same part of the world as I am anyway!) the wind and rain and snow have been terrible all day today and yesterday.

I'm still in catch-up mode, but nearly there now, just a couple of days behind with this one as Seems A Little Sketchy have a new sketch up since Monday.  We are being sponsored for the next fortnight by Kenny K Designs!

The paper is Sugar Rush by Basic Grey and I used a Spellbinders Classic Heart die for the shape which I then coated with super sparkle holographic embossing powder and a layer of ultra thick embossing enamel.  The sentiment was computer generated using the font Juice.  I added a few diamantes here and there to finish it off.

It's been a strange week for me.  I should've had this posted on Monday but we've had a death in family at the start of this week, on my dad's side of the family and then another death on my mum's side of the family yesterday.  So although I'm behind with my personal posts, you may have seen my work already on the challenge blogs.

So there's a new challenge up on Seems A Little Sketchy with a fab sponsor - Scribbles Designs!

http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.co.uk/

They're offering 3 digi's to the lucky winner!

Here is the sketch we have for you this fortnight

The papers I have used are First Edition, Desert Blooms and the dies are X-Cut hexagons for the image and Spellbinder Fancy Tags for the sentiment which was computer generated using the font Baby Bowser.  The pearls are from my stash.

I have used the sketch for the inside of the card as well as the same papers as the front.

And there you have my first card of the year!  Please pop over to the Seems A Little Sketchy blog to join in with the fun!  I'll be back later with my Creative Card Crew card that should have been posted on Tuesday, so the surprise probably isn't a surprise any more if you keep up with the challenges over there!
