Angel Delight!

Saturday, 5 April 2014

Hi everyone!

I had meant to get this posted yesterday - I uploaded my pictures to a draft post with the intention of taking 5 minutes during the day at work to write it up, but it was a hectic day, unusually so for a Friday, and didn't get it done and my shoulders were in so much pain by the evening (a lot of computer work plays havoc with my shoulders) that I couldn't face putting the computer on at home, so here I am writing it up as I watch the F1 qualifying!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this sort of thing won't bother me for too much longer as I'm going for my first injection into my shoulder on the 15th.

We have a new challenge up at PunkYouGirl and our fab sponsor for this month is Stitchy Bear Designs!
http://stitchybearstamps.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index

So in order to win the fab prize of $10 to spend in their store all you have to do is make something that fulfills the theme of...

Lavish Lace!

There are so many ways to go with that challenge so I'm looking forward to seeing all the entries this month - but remember to keep them dark!

Here's what I did...

The gorgeous image was supplied by our fab sponsor Stitchy Bear from Delicious Doodles and she is called Dark Valentine.  I coloured her with the following Copics: Skin: E21,13,00,0000,R20. Clothes: R39,37,29. Rose: 100,C10,8,6,3,YG17,13,93.  The wonderful shading by Teri has left this image so easy to colour, I didn't even touch her hair!

I decided to raid my 12x12 papers this time instead of my 6x6 pads and picked out a sheet of Basic Greys Winterberry paper from their Wassail range.  I made some flowers out of my fab black lace and added some black and red beads to the centres.  I found some black glittery feathers in my stash and added them to the card too.  I placed a few red Swarovski's around the image, which was die-cut with a Spellbinders Oval die and mounted on a Scalloped oval die-cut.

The inside has the same papers and another piece of the lace with space for a sentiment.  I left it blank so it can be used for any occasion.

I do hope you can join us at PunkYouGirl for this month's challenge, pop over to see the rest of Team 1's fab makes and remember to check out Team 2's in the midway reminder!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks; Colour a stamped image
Creative Inspirations; Lovely lace
Daring Cardmakers; Colour challenge
Delightful Challenges; Hip to be square
Delicious Doodles; All seasons in a day
Fab N Funky Challenges; Once upon a time - fantasy

Sassy Snow White

Saturday, 22 March 2014

 Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you've had a good week and are about to have an even better weekend!
I've had a busy week catching up at work but am slowly but surely getting there.
I got a date for my first cortisone injection for my shoulder, for the 15th of April.  I'm quite nervous about it but I just hope it works and that I have less pain, better movement and more strength, so I'm looking forward to it for that part!  Then I'll need another one for the other shoulder and I hate needles!  I have to go to the x-ray department to get it as it has to be guided down into the joint.  The more I think about it the more I cringe!  I'm such a wuss!!

Anyway,  here is my second card that I made for the midway reminder for the current challenge at PunkYouGirl where the challenge is...

Fairytales Gone Bad!

You may have already seen the sneaky peeky on the challenge blog but here it is in full:

I used a fab image by Mo's Digital Pencil called Bite and I coloured her with the following Copics: Skin: E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair: 100,C10,8,6. Clothes: E9,Y15,13,11. B39,37. RV29,25,23. B06,05,04. Apple: YG17,13,R37,29. Background: 100,C10,8,6,3,2,1.

The papers are Lauderdale by Basic Grey and the font around the image is called Campanile.  The ribbon and charm are from my stash.  I distressed the papers and inked with black soot distress ink.

The inside has been decorated to compliment the front.

You still have a few days to enter the challenge over at PunkYouGirl so please go and look at the rest of the DT fab work for some more inspiration!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

 Evening everyone!

I hope you're all safe and warm away from the awful weather (if you're around the same part of the world as I am anyway!) the wind and rain and snow have been terrible all day today and yesterday.

I'm still in catch-up mode, but nearly there now, just a couple of days behind with this one as Seems A Little Sketchy have a new sketch up since Monday.  We are being sponsored for the next fortnight by Kenny K Designs!

Who are offering 3 digi's to our lucky winner!

Here's the sketch for this challenge

The paper is Sugar Rush by Basic Grey and I used a Spellbinders Classic Heart die for the shape which I then coated with super sparkle holographic embossing powder and a layer of ultra thick embossing enamel.  The sentiment was computer generated using the font Juice.  I added a few diamantes here and there to finish it off.

The inside has the same papers, dies and font.

I hope you can join us with this fab sketch at Seems A Little Sketchy!

The Sweetest Thing!

Wednesday, 27 November 2013

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all keeping well - I thought I'd make it a hat-trick of song titles for post titles!  I love the U2 song and it actually came on the ipod (set on random) while I was making this card, so even more appropriate this time! lol!

I can't believe that this time 4 weeks we'll be waiting for the big man to make his way down the chimney!  Is anyone else as ready for it as me??  ie. not. at. all.!!!  That's part of the fun of it for me though, the mad panic in the run up and the first half of the day itself and then being able to relax and enjoy the rest of the time!  Did anyone notice that I managed a whole paragraph about a particular subject without actually mentioning the subject?!  But I'm sure you all know what I'm going on about!  Lol!

So another challenge for you today at the Creative Card Crew and our fabulous sponsor for this fortnight is the Scrapping Center!

http://www.scrappingcenter.com/
with a fab $15 dollar prize voucher for one lucky winner!

The challenge we have in store for you this fortnight is...

Sweet Treats!

So make us drool over all the sweets and chocolate and lollies and... oops, I got a bit distracted there!  Here's what I did:

My image is Creepy Cake Twist by The Greeting Farm and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair;E49,47,44,43. Dress;G24,21,20, BG01,000,0000, Y17,15,13, R22,21,20, E07,04,33,31. Shadow;W5,3,1.  I wasn't totally happy with my colouring on this one but I was in such a hurry to get it done that it had to do!

The papers I have used are Basic Grey "Nook & Pantry" and the sentiment is computer generated using the font Penshurst.  The fabby yellow skull is a bead and came from my stash along with all the diamantés, oodles of em!

The inside has been done to compliment the front.

And that's my card!  I hope you can join this sweet challenge at the Creative Card Crew - check out what the rest of the DT have done, especially all our newbies - give them a great big lovely welcome!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks; Anything goes
Allsorts; Bring on the bling
Bearly Mine Challenges; Anything goes
Drunken Stampers Challenges; Diner
Moving Along With The Times; Music inspired - The Sweetest Thing by U2!
Oh La La Challenge Blog; Birthday

Put Your Feet Up!

Monday, 28 October 2013

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well and not been blown away, not that we had too much wind but I know a lot of other places did!

We have a new challenge today at Seems A Little Sketchy and 2 sponsors!

The first sponsor is Bugaboo

who are offering 7 digi's to one lucky winner!

The second fabulous sponsor is QKR Stampede

Who are offering 5 digi's to another lucky winner!

Here's the sketch for the next fortnight which is a flashback to the very first sketch the blog had as we've now had 50 sketches in total!

Our sponsors kindly gave us images to work with and I used one by QKR Stampede, here's what I did

I coloured this laid-back fella with the following copics: Clothes;YG97,95,93,91,17,13,11,E39,37,35,33. Bird; 100,W9,7,5,Y17,15,13. Pig; R22,21,20. Ground; E44,43,blender. Sky; B01,00,000,0000.

The papers I have used are Origins by Basic Grey and I edged each piece with Brushed Corduroy distress ink.  I thought it would be fun to have him lying in the sun and as the sketch allowed for it, I cut a yellow circle with an inverted scallop circle die by Spellbinders, and I stamped a LOTV sentiment in the sun which suited this chap down to the ground!  The raffia and flower are from my stash.

The inside has the whole sketch replicated to compliment the front.  I haven't added another sentiment so as it can be used for anything, from a birthday to retirement or whatever.

So take a lazy stroll over to Seems A Little Sketchy to see what the rest of the DT have done.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Crafty Boots Challenges; Autumn
Fab N Funky Challenges; Distress
Paper Crafting Journey; Anything goes
Stamp & Create; Fall
The Corrosive Challenge Blog; Tic tac toe - centre line across
Basic Grey Challenges; Food & Drink

World Card-Making Day - The Card(s)

Monday, 7 October 2013

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all well and had a nice crafty World Card-Making Day?  I did a bit of crafting so was happy with that.

I was supposed to post this yesterday but it was just one of those days and I never got it done, but this is for the new challenge at Eclectic Ellapu - speaking of which, I hope you're all joining in with the fabulous treasure hunt with fantastic prizes to be won every day throughout October?!  You can read all about it on the blog.  Our new challenge, hosted by the lovely Yvonne, for this week is...

Celebrate Autumn!

So as World Card-Making Day occurs every autumn, I thought I'd combine the two!  We have a swap every year on our forum and this is my card...

The image I used is so appropriate for the occasion (in my opinion!) so I had to use it, its a Magnolia stamp; Stamping Tilda, one of the limited edition ones from last year and I coloured her with the following copics: skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair;E47,44,43. Clothes;YG97,95,93,YR24,23,21,14. Stamp;E37,35,33,V04,000.

The papers are Basic Grey, Pyrus.  The sentiment was computer generated using the font Reisling.  I have used spellbinder oval and scalloped oval for the image and Memory box; Chloe stem, Cheery Lynn Designs; Princess tree and mini fanciful flourish for the arrangement as well as a Spellbinders nested bird die.  The flowers, pearls and ribbon are from my stash.

The inside has been finished to compliment the front with a Wild Rose Studio sentiment.

So please pop over to Eclectic Ellapu to join in with our challenge and also don't forget the treasure hunt!!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks; Fall/Autumn
Allsorts Challenge Blog; Autumn colours
Creative Belli Blog; Ribbons & pearls
Fab N Funky Challenges; Ribbon
The Hobby House; Roses
Patties Creations Challenge; Ribbon
QKR Stampede; Fall colours
Ruby's Rainbow; Autumnal colours
Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog; Autumn
Top Tip Tuesday Challenge; Flowers

I made a card for World Card-Making Day last year, but I never got around to blogging it as it was just after my accident and as time went on it was too out of sync.  So I thought I'd tag it onto the bottom of this years just so as I can say I blogged it!

Here it is...

I used the same stamp that I used this year and coloured her with the following copics (yes, I still have the details!): skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair;E49,39,35,31. Top;YG07,05,03,BG49,45,11. Frills;R39,37,27. Stamp; BV04.

These papers are also Basic Grey but this time from the Luscious paper pad.  The sentiment was computer generated and I stroked out the Day and replaced it with month because I was so late in sending it (but it was difficult to do on time because of my arm being in a sling!).  The ribbons and flower were from my stash.

For the inside I used another Magnolia - Longing Tilda, and coloured her with the same copics as above.

Here's a close-up.

So there you have it, two cards for the price of one!
I'm not entering this one into any challenges as it's a year old!

Last reminder - don't forget the treasure hunt!!

Thanks for looking!

Ivy Wings

Tuesday, 3 September 2013

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all well?
My niece is so excited about starting school tomorrow!  I'm not sure how long her excitement will last - my nephew started P2 yesterday and is complaining about homework already! lol!  She's so cute in her wee uniform though!

We have a new challenge today from the Creative Card Crew and our sponsor for the next fortnight is Delicious Doodles - I love their digi stamps!

Their offering 4 digi's to one lucky winner!

So our challenge this fortnight is....

Things with wings!

The DT were supplied with images from Delicious Doodles and here's what I did:

The image is called Ivy Fairy and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin (lot's of it!); E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair; E47,44,43,40. Wings and ivy; YG97,95,93,91. Background; E37,35,33,30,W3,1.

The papers I used are Basic Grey, Hello Luscious.  I used a Umount (I think it's a Sheena Douglas set) to stamp swirls around the image with versamark and I used Super Sparkle holographic Embossing powder.  I also did this on the design paper.  It's hard to get a picture of it but it is really lovely and sparkly in real life.
A Spellbinders Grand Nestibility Decorative Element was used for the circle and I distressed the papers with Frayed Burlap DI.  The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

The same layout and papers were used for the inside.  I didn't add a sentiment so it can be used for any occasion.

So take a look at what the rest of the DT have done at the Creative Card Crew and let us see what gives you wings!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Friday Sketch Challenge; Sketch - I added a bit of ribbon, I hope that is OK?
Craft Your Passion Challenge; Do you believe in fairies?
Cute Card Thursday; Things with wings
A Gem Of A Challenge; Use 2 backing papers
Ohh La La Challenge Blog; Pearls & swirls
Sweetpea Stampers; Fantasy

Thanks for looking - I'll be back later with the winner of my blog candy!
