Photobucket

I can't believe I forgot about this card! It was my mum & dad's 35th wedding anniversary last week.

Here's my card

Photobucket

I've checked and it fits 3 challenges!
Colour Create are looking for pistachio green, aqua and powder pink - that's my 3 main colours!
My Time To Craft's challenge this week is "In the garden" - lots of flowers on my card in the DP and the embellishment.
And One Stop Craft Challenge are looking for numbers on our creations, and as 35 years of marriage is a bit of a milestone, I put some numbers on there!
I didn't use a sketch for it and just came up with the layout myself (which was a challenge in itself!!)

Photobucket

The stamp is another Leanne Ellis lovely from Sugar Nellie - love these babies! Coloured with my old faithful promarkers.
I ran the bits through my cuttlebug using 2 different embossing folders. The flowers are from my local craft shop.

Here's the inside

copied from the front. You can see the different embossing better here as the flower is covering a bit on the front!

I hope you liked it. Thanks for dropping by!

Fathers Day

Wednesday, 24 June 2009

Photobucket

Fathers day has to be one of the hardest times for us card-makers! It is for me anyway, I find it so hard to make male cards. So for this one I decided to use an image that I love!

I used the sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp for this card.

Photobucket

And this is my card:

Photobucket

The reason I love this image is because my pride and joy is my mini! I even coloured this one in the colours of my mini (whose name is Bert by the way!!)

Photobucket

The fabby image is from Sketching stamper. I was gonna write Bert on the number plate but then I thought I'd better try to make it more for da! So I wrote I heart Da!! on it instead!

This is the inside:

Photobucket

As far as I remember the papers are Basic Grey but I have a head like a sieve so I'll have to check that when I get home this evening.

Hope you liked it - Da had a chuckle anyway!!

Thanks for dropping by!

My First Candle!

Tuesday, 23 June 2009

Just a quick one here to show the first candle I've ever decorated! I followed the advice of fellow blogger and forum friend Andria. Check out her blog - Iona-Rose Designs - to see her fabulous candles, not to mention her gorgeous cards and fantastic photography!

Anyway, here's my candle:

Photobucket

Again, crap photo, I even took it outside to try to sqeeze the last bit of light from the evening, but I still had to put the flash on!

Definitely gonna decorate more candles!

Thanks for dropping by.

Happily Ever After

Photobucket

This is the card I made for my friend who is getting married (the one I'm making all the wedding stationary for).

I followed this sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar:

And this is my card:

Photobucket

I used my brand new (and really yummy!) stamp from The Greeting Farm. I just fell in love with this pair who look so in love with each other! Coloured as usual with my promarkers.

Apologies for the awful pictures but as usual, I was running late with the card and the light was fading too quickly for me and the pictures didn't come out as well as I'd like.

This is the inside:

Photobucket

Fairly plain - time was running out fast, so had to do something quick!

Hope you liked it - thanks for dropping by!

Another one for Laura!

Photobucket

Here's the second card I made for Laura for her 18th, this one is a little more funkier I think!

I followed the sketch over at The Sugar Bowl - and a fantastic sketch it is!

Photobucket

Here's my card

Photobucket

The papers I used on this card are actually wrapping paper! It's from paper chase and I thought they were really full of attitude! You couldn't get away with the shiny paper on most cards but I think this is OK.

Photobucket

To add yet more funk I used this gorjuss girl and coloured her with my pro-markers - I loved doing the different colour for her hair! I added a bit of glitz by highlighting skull and crossbones in her hair with clear sakura stardust.

I made the flower with lots of layers cut with my flowers nesties and a flower punch.

Here's the inside

Photobucket

Again I used wrapping paper - that same one that I used to make the flower on the front.
I love this glitter paper too - it's completely smooth to touch and has a sticky side so you just need to peel off the backing and it's stunning!!

I hope you liked it, thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Laura

Monday, 15 June 2009

It seems like forever since I last blogged a card! And it sort of is :$ Bad blogger (slaps wrists!) - I have been really busy though!

Photobucket

I made this one for my cousin who turned 18 yesterday - do you remember being 18? That seems like forever ago too!!

I followed the yummy sketch from Sketch and stash

Photobucket

And here's my card

Photobucket

I used my new Leanne Ellis Sugar Nellie Stamp - Fizz, and coloured with my pro-markers - predominently using cinnamon and pumpkin, so it qualifies for the passion for promarkers challenge!

Photobucket

The papers I used are from Me & My Big Ideas. I added ribbon, swarovski crystals and card candy from stash and I just love the big glittery 18 that I got from a local craft shop.

Here's the inside

I hope you liked it, thanks for dropping by!

Bee-Hive yourself!

Wednesday, 3 June 2009

Photobucket

This is a card of many firsts! It's the first time I've used this yummy Magnolia Tilda with bee, and it's the first time I used a mask for stamping! I sat Tilda on her big flower so as her bee would feel at home! It's also the first time I've used a sewing machine on my cards! I've been wanting to try it for months and finally got my sewing machine set up in my craft room at the weekend. It was so much easier than I was expecting!! And I love the results!

Here's my card:

Photobucket

I stitched around all the edges and also stitched a flight path for the couple of bee's on the backing paper!

Here's a close up of Tilda:

Photobucket

I'm getting happier with my colouring, it really does just take practice...lot's of it!!

I was making this card just so I could try out the sewing machine and I had a sentiment printed out and ready to cut which said "Ha-Bee Birthday!" when I realised that this card would be perfect for this weekend!! I'm going on a hen weekend to Edinburgh (and I think I'm safe enough to tell all as the bride doesn't read my blog.) The theme for the weekend is "Miss Bee-Hivin'!" and on Saturday night we're dressing the Bride-to-be up as Amy Winehouse!! Bee-hive, tattoo's and all!! I'm really looking forward to it!
Ditzy me had started making the card and didn't even twig about the whole bee/bee-hive thing until it was almost too late! Thankfully I noticed in time, which luckily has ended up saving me loads of time instead of making another card! I made the inside look a little more hen-partyish (ie. there's a hen in it!!) and I've left loads of room to get everyone to sign the card - it's an 8x8" card so there is loads of room!

Here's the inside:

Photobucket

It's also the first time in ages that I haven't followed a sketch! So no challenge to enter there...
It does, however, fit the challenge this week at Just Magnolia which is Animals and insects - I've got both!

Hope you like it!
