Head In The Clouds!

Sunday, 24 February 2013

Hi everyone!

Do you ever have days when you've been really busy doing loads of little jobs that needed done but you would never know you had done anything?  I've been having a few days like that this week, but at least I know the little things are done now!

Anyway, another challenge for you, this time it's the Pink teams turn at Eclectic Ellapu and the fabulous Claire's turn to host and choose what the theme is and she chose....

Masculine!

A difficult one for most people, including myself!  So I've had this one sitting in the "wings" waiting for a while so it could "swoop" in and save the day!  (sorry for the terrible punnage!)

I had made it for my dad for his birthday and we had gotten him flying lessons for his present so I made my card to suit that!

Here it is:

The image is from a set called Giraffes from The Paper Shelter and I coloured it with the following copics: Giraffe; YR24,23,21,E41,40,39,37,29 Plane; C9,7,3,1,00,110,R39,37,27. Sky; B000,0000.  I cut the image out with Spellbinder die Labels 6.

I also decoupaged the image and added some glossy accents and googly eyes!

I used some plane  ;)  blue card for the background and painted some white around the edges.  I've had these arrow brads in my stash for ages and thought they would go with the card.  The sentiments are computer generated (font; AR Carter) and cut out with Memory Box Marshmallow Clouds dies.  Ribbon is from my stash.

The inside has similar details as the front and a LOTV sentiment.

So pop over to Eclectic Ellapu to see all the other fab makes by the rest of the DT!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenges; Animals
Bearly Mine Challenges; Ribbon

Tequila!

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

Hi everyone,  I'm late again but I didn't get time to schedule my post last night and have been at work all day so just getting to it now.  I'm even putting off playing with a few new Copics that arrived today so I better get cracking!

Another challenge at the Creative Card Crew and another sponsored by The Scrapping Center

They're offering one lucky winner a $15 gift voucher for their fab store!  To be in with a chance all you have to do is enter the easy peasy challenge of...

Birthdays!

Probably the next easiest challenge after anything goes, so I can see a busy fortnight of commenting on the horizon!

I actually made my card a while ago but here's what I did

I used the fantastic image from Bugaboo called Tequila!  and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin: E21,13,00,0000,R20. Dress; B05,02,01. Hair; E39,35,33. Boots; YR04,02,01.  I left a bit of a border around her when I cut her out as I didn't fancy cutting around those stilettos!  I attached her to the card at a wonky angle to emphasise the effect of said Tequila! lol!  Oh, and I added a few swarovski's to her hair as she's obviously dressed to be out on the town!

The papers are MME Fine and Dandy Tickled Pink.  The banner was made with a Stampin' Up punch and the same papers, and I threaded some Typo bakers twine throught it.
The sentiment is a LOTV clear sentiment and I added the 21 with some wee cheapo stamps I've had for ages and it was cut out with nesties.

The inside has more papers from the same stack and compliment the front and I've also used the fab sentiment that came with the image!

I made this card for my cousin and it turned out to be quite an accurate representation of how things went! lol!

So go and take a peek at the rest of the DT's fab creations at the Creative Card Crew and I'm sure I'll see you there!

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Tickets.... Grrr!

Friday, 15 February 2013

Good morning!

I've just spent almost an hour trying to get tickets to see the Scottish comedian Billy Connolly.  I thought I was doing well to start with as I got onto the site, got my tickets selected and entered my payment details.  And then... CRASH!  The flippin site went down!  And then it was impossible to get back on it, even to find out if my purchase went through.  So after 45 minutes of refreshing the page with one hand and re-dialling with the other I finally got onto the page and got tickets booked for another night.  So at least I know I'm going now, maybe even twice!

On another note, I've been in total shock about Oscar Pistorius.  You may have noticed that I have pictures of him in my side-bar as I've been a fan for a long time.  I just hope that the right result comes from this terrible incident.  There are just so many questions.

Anyway, it's time for another challenge at the Alphabet Challenge Blog and the challenge for the next fortnight, which was chosen by our lovely Jan, is...

A for Anything With Wings!

So back at the start of the alphabet with a fab challenge!

Here's what I did:

The image is Daisy Butterfly by Whimsy Stamps and I coloured it with the following Copics: E55,53,51,40,39,37,35,YR24,23,21,16,14,RV34,32,10.  I then used Glamour dust around the edges of the butterfly.  I used the out of the box technique to cut out the image with a Spellbinder die and I twirled some wire to add to the top of the wings.  Lot's of Swarovski crystals to bling it up!

The papers I have used are MME Indie Chic.  I used Grand Nestibilities - Grand Labels 23 for the card base and Fancy Framed Tags 1 for the sentiment.  The sentiment is a Waltzing Mouse stamp from the Fancy Phrases set.  And I couldn't resist a few more Swarovski's and pearls!  I didn't take a pic of the inside as it is quite plain.

So pop over to the Alphabet Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT did.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create; Sketch
Bunny Zoe's Crafts; Flowers & pearls
Charisma Cardz Challenges; Anything goes

Happy Birthday Rachael!

Sunday, 10 February 2013

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all well and keeping warm - there's so much snow all over the place but thankfully we seem to be avoiding it this time!  There was talk of us getting some over the weekend but the threat seems to have moved over a bit and is missing us.  I'm sure it would've been nothing like the amount in the US!  Wow, that's a lot of snow!  Stay safe if you're affected.

Anyway, I have to shout a bit Happy Birthday to my wee sister Rachael who's turning Sweet 16 today!  I know she's having a good birthday weekend but I only ever wish the best for her - love her to bits!

So it's new challenge time for the Pink team at Eclectic Ellapu and guess what?  It's my turn to host and as it's my wee sisters birthday today I decided to go for the theme...

Girly!

Here's what I did...

I used several Magnolia stamps - Not sure what you call the Tilda but she's sitting on Love Muffin.  I used the masking technique and I stamped with Memento Desert Sand - I have wanted to try the stamping with a light coloured ink technique for a while and that is the lightest coloured ink I have.  I coloured them with the following Copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair; E49,39,37,35. Etc; RV13,11,10,BG02,000,0000,YG95,93,91,E33,31,30,W3,1,00.

The card is a large 8"x8" card from Craftwork cards and my papers are First Edition, Spring Feast.  They are from a 6"x6" pad so I quilted 3 patterns from the pad to fit the card.  I made the 3 lollipops by cutting circles of card and covering in super sticky tape, I then got the ribbon and tied a knot at the end, trimming close to the knot and sticking it in the centre of the circle, the ribbon coming from the knot I then twisted and wrapped in a spiral til I got to the outter edge of the circle and adhered the loose end on the back.  I then painted 3 wooden toothpicks with white paint and attached to the back.  The tag and lace banner are both Magnolia stamps with computer generated sentiments.  Some more ribbon and baubly ribbon from my stash and card candy with gems complete the card.

The inside, as always, matches the front.

So go have a look at what the rest of the DT did at Eclectic Ellapu - they've produced some stunners this week, as they do every week! lol!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Heavy Metal!

Tuesday, 5 February 2013

Good morning!

I hope you're keeping warm - I had a wee bit of a surprise last night when I peeked out through the blinds and everything was white!  Again!  Even though we were expecting a little bit of snow, I didn't actually see it snowing and we had quite a covering!  Hopefully it won't hang around for long.

Time for another new challenge at the Creative Card Crew and we have a new sponsor!

Pizzazz Aplenty are offering one lucky person a surprise package and as someone who was previously lucky enough to have won from them I can vouch that their surprise packages are fab!

So in order to be in with a chance to win it, all you have to do is make something to the following theme...

Chocolate - colour or candy!

I chose to go the colour route and here's my card:

My image is Sprocket by Saturated Canary - it's ages since I coloured one of these beauties and I really enjoyed it!  I used the following copics: Skin: E21,13,00,0000,R20. And the rest: W9,7,5,E59,57,55,53,51,49,44,43,40,41,39,37,35,33,31,30,29,23,07,04 and a little bit of black prisma pancil.

It's my first attempt at anything steampunk so I just threw everything metal I had at it and it weighs a ton!  Lot's of Tim Holtz bits and some fabricky sparkly paper and I randomly frantaged areas of card.  The pearl is from Pizzazz Aplenty.  And a few other bits and pieces from my stash.

The inside matches the front as usual.

So pop over to the Creative Card Crew and check out what the rest of the DT did - it'll make you drool!  Then make something to join in and make us drool!

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Ta!

Friday, 1 February 2013

Hi everyone!

I've still got a few remnants of the flu hanging around but thankfully I'm feeling a bit better, hopefully it won't take long to kick the rest of it away!

Not a lot else to report so I suppose no news is good news!

We do have another new challenge to start today at the Alphabet Challenge Blog.  The challenge, chosen by the lovely Mari is...

Z for Zig Zags!

Now, as it turns out, the card I made for our last challenge would've fitted this one nicely too, so I unconsciously decided to stick to the general theme of it and made a remarkably similar card!  (remember I have the flu so the old brain hasn't been working the best!  That's also my excuse for my dodgy photos, I wasn't actually drunk when I took them!)
Here's my card:

Similar papers and a similar layout but I quite liked the first one, so I suppose why not do it again! lol!
The image is Sunny Patch by Whimsy Stamps which I coloured with the following promarkers: Magenta, Carmine, Cerise, Leaf green, Meadow green, Sunkissed pink, Oatmeal & Blush.

The papers are again from Pink Petticoat and the sentiment is also a digi from Tiddly Inks (was possibly a freebie?)  The dies are a mixture of Cheery Lynn Designs, Cuttlebug and Spellbinders.
The ricrac and the butterfly are from my stash and I used a white gel pen to doodle the dots around the pink layers and filled the heart with glamour dust.

Again, the inside matches the front.

So let us see your zig zags and join in with us at the Alphabet Challenge Blog!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Crafty Ribbons Challenge; Anything goes with ribbon
Love To Create Challenge; Anything goes with a sentiment
My Time To Craft Challenge; Things with wings
One Stitch At A Time Challenge; Use a digi
Passion For Promarkers; Add sparkle
