WOYWW 139

Wednesday 1 February 2012

Evening all!

I'm just getting around to posting this now.  I'm gonna try to see if I can visit everyone on the list before next week (some of whom I've already visited in trying to get a head start!).  I've never really tried to get to everyone before as it is a daunting task and I don't think I'd be able to do it every week, but I'll try every once in a while.
If you're with me then you'll know what list I'm talking about but if you're wondering "what list?" then take a peek over at Julia's Stamping Ground for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and all will become relatively clear.  And you'll be hooked!

So what's on my workdesk this Wednesday?
Well, right now, my laptop is on it, but before that this is what it looked like:

I have been crafting and I was taking photo's of the finished cards last night, so my light box tent thingy was set up at photo taking time.

I took another photo as when I was making the last card, I was cutting out my stamped image and was so engrossed that I didn't notice my pudgy finger in the way and snipped straight into it!  The cut itself looks tiny but it feels huge!  And I never thought I used that part of my finger as much as I have used it all day!  It didn't help that I also burnt that very same finger when I was making my dinner last night.  I think my finger needs a break!

So that's my desk finally uploaded for another week.  I'll be trying to get around everyone - wish me luck!

Thanks for looking and for your lovely comments!

Ouch for your finger, do you find that once you have hurt something (a finger, a toe whatever) you seem to keep bashing it and hurting it even more? or is that just me being clumsey hehe One of my cats kept hiding in my light box thingy last time i had set it up for photos. Hugs Lou x

Oh gosh! I thought I was the only one that cut my finger this way. Isn't amazing how such a little cut can be such a big pain in the rear? I hope it heals up quickly.

Hi Sheena, great lightbox - looks very professional. Is that a mirror tile? Do you find it gives a good picture, only I'm still playing with my lightcube and trying to find how to take the best pictures.

Good luck on getting round all the WOYWW - I had a peak for the first time yesterday and there were loads!!!

Oh, am very familiar with your finger pain...I do it if Im foolish enough to attempt cutting something fine without my glasses! I AM learning...! Nice light box..does it fold flat?

Sheena,
I hope your finger gets better soon. I KNOW how it goes as I cut mine really badly right after Christmas (should have had stitches but, didn't). It has finally healed closed but, that darn thing still HURTS if I hit it or touch it. Guess the nerves aren't healed yet. Just give yours a break to heal as you don't want an infection! Now, onto WOYWW... WOW this is my first experience & you girls are something. Thanks for stopping by to visit me. And I NEED a light box for my jewelry. Did you make your own? Charlene

I think I really need one of those light box thingies.
It is so daunting to get round everyone but it is nice to do it once in a while...it was so easy at the begining ...there were only about 20 woywwers back then.
That is a gorgeous card below.

Ouch! That must hurt. I know how easy it is to do that...have done it before with my cutter bee scissors.

Once I even pruned my baby finger right down to the bottom of the nail...careless I know...just dumb, really dumb of me!!!

That light box looks interesting. I take such awful pictures of my stuff..I will have to try this.

Sheena - know all about injuring myself with either scissors, craft knife or indeed stabbing myself with reaching across the jug I keep my pens in...you see I am a bit of a calligrapher as well...and I live in Northern Ireland AND...shhhhhh.....don't tell Shaz....but I haven't seen The Book of Kells either....and have walked past Trinity College but was chaperoning an elderly lady (even older than me LOL!) so couldn't manage to pop in and see whatever page was opened that day.
Best Wishes from Cookstown.

Aww, poor you.
It’s amazing that the tiniest little cuts can be the most painful. When I was at work I was always getting paper cuts and it always used to make feel sick when it happened....I hate blood, especially when it’s mine!

It looks like you’re being very professional with your photos. I brought myself one of those then thinks a while back, used it a few time and now can’t be bothered to set it up each time I need to take a photo. It might be a different story if I had somewhere I could leave it up.

Happy Crafting!

Oh no! I'm sorry about your finger!

I love the light box. I agree it is hard to go to all the blogs. I {think} did it a few weeks ago, but haven't come close since! It is such a nice feeling of accomplishment when you do though!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm sorry to be getting around so late this week, a stomach virus had me knocked out for a few days :(

Hi there Sheena ah have done exactly the same thing myself and think the burn on top of the cut it the major culprit sometimes think burns are the worst - a band-aid might help to protect it!, thanks so much for popping over, and for sharing. Happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #21

Ouch! Well done on getting half way through the list. I never manage it any more. I try to visit different people each week as well as a few favourites. Thanks for stopping by today xx

Poor little finger, hope it soon recovers. I do the same as May for photos. I use daylight whenever possible (when I remember) with two pieces of card at the back and underneath. Well done for getting so far through the list, Thank you for visiting me. I have done it twice, by doing nothing else all week. My desk is not messy now, I have had a major tidy up before starting again - I even managed to vacuum the floor!!!! xx Maggie
