Last minute wedding card.

Saturday, 7 March 2009

How do I get my brother to give me a bit of notice when he needs a card???
I came home from work yesterday evening and was told that he "might need a card" for a party he was going to. Half an hour later he did need it so I had very little time to do it before he left.
So I thought, as I hadn't made a challenge card in so long, I'd follow a sketch. The problem is, I didn't check to see when the challenge was up - and I've missed it!

I followed Our Creative Corners sketch anyway, and I was able to use one of my brand spanking new Martha Stewart punches!!! I was so excited!!

So here it is:

Here's a close of of the writing and the wee diamante butterfly - which I got from a local craft shop.

It was really good to make a different card for a change (even if it was last minute!) as I've been at wedding invitations for the past 2 weeks - and due to having a terrible migrane, it's been slow progress.

I have loads to do so better get back to it!

The Hen Party...

Tuesday, 3 March 2009

Here's the booklet I was talking about that I made for my cousins hen party. (Sorry it's late, I know I said I would post it yesterday but I had a terrible migrane, so here it is now!)
The theme (as I already mentioned) was a hippy/flowery theme so I wanted to incorporate that into the book and posters.
I just made it using Powerpoint and some scanned photo's and a font I downloaded for the flowers.

The front cover:

Pages 8 & 9:

Pages 10 & 11, I left these (and page 12) blank for everyone to sign and write messages to the hen:

And finally the posters to match the book:

These along with some balloons and banners made the bus look great! We bought some happy meal type boxes in pink and yellow and filled them with things to fit the theme. Half the group got round pink sunglasses and a head band and the other half got bright pink peace sign ear-rings and medalion! Plus some sweets and general hen night type things ;)
It all went down a treat and is a great keepsake to remind her of her hen week-end!

Another cute award!

I got this award from Lyn at Spyder's Corner.

Thanks Lyn! She's got a fab blog with some gorgeous cards on there - make sure you go and have a peek!

I'd like to pass this on to all my followers but particularly Rachael at Pear-Shaped Creations.
She's my little sister and has just started her blog - she's just really got into making cards too so hopefully this will encourage her to keep at it! Love ya Rachael!

Hen Party!

Sunday, 1 March 2009

I made a card for my cousin for her hen party. There was a theme of hippy/flowery, so I used my shapabilities for the flower shapes.

And here's the inside:

I resurrected my Woodware "Hyacinth" stamp and coloured with my pro-markers. My Papermania Retro floral stack caame in very handy for this flower/hippy style card and I was also able to use my Leon Em punch. I added some ribbons and a wee heart charm from stash.

We're not long home from our week-end which was brilliant craic! But now I'm totally knackered! I think I'll have an early night tonight! (Does that mean I'm getting old???!!!)

I also made her a "This is you hen weekend" booklet and some posters - I'll post them tomorrow!

Night-night!!

Flowers in Spring!

Monday, 23 February 2009

I made a square card! I haven't made a square card in ages. I usually do A5 cards so it's a nice change for me.

I followed this sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches:

This is my card:

And the inside:

I used my yummy flower shapabilities - all three sizes! and I used my pro-markers for the second time! I could quickly become addicted to using those little beauties! I can't believe I was actually scared to use them!!
The papers are Doodlebug (stripey) and K & Co. (Flowery).
The gorgeous stamps are kneeling Willow and friends from the new spring set from Whiff of Joy. Isn't she just lovely!
I haven't decided what I want the card for yet - there are a few birthdays coming up and mother's day etc so I'll decide when I need it and add a sentiment then.

Cute Card Thursday are looking for signs of spring in your card - a double whammy here with the lovely bright papers and the stamp from the "spring" set!! ;)

That's it for now. Thanks for dropping by!

An 80 on my ROBO...

I was asked to make a last minute card for a lady who has just turned 80, and I thought all the cards I've been making lately are a bit wee girly so I wanted to do something a bit different. So I went to Time 4 Crafting for inspiration and downloaded an "80" template to cut out on my ROBO. There are some fabulous templates and projects on that site - you should check it out.

So here it is:

Photobucket

I also cut out the wording with my ROBO - I couldn't get a decent picture of it but here's a slightly closer picture:

Photobucket

You can also see my dodgy faux stitching on that pic!
The papers are Basic Grey Sugared and I stamped the Serendipity rose stamp that I used the other day and embossed it with pink EP. A few swarovski crystals and that's it.
I didn't bother taking a picture of the inside as I didn't actually do anything on the inside! With the cut shape I couldn't really do anything without taking up space for writing a message (well I suppose I could've done something, but didn't I mention it was a last minute jobby!!)

So I'm still way behind on the invites, but tomorrow's a new day and I WILL get loads done!!

We'll see...!

Thanks for looking! I really love read your comments and thank you to those who do!
