Bird Is The Word

Evening everyone!

I'm a little late with this one today - totally forgot to schedule it last night, my head's all over the place!

It's time for another challenge at the Creative Card Crew and luckily I had my card made in advance so I have one to show for this challenge!

Bird!

Here's what I did:

My image is one I've had for a long time and it's a digi from Pollycraft.  I coloured him with the following copics: Owl;E44,43,41. Branch;E29,23. Leaves;YG97,91.

I used a Spellbinders Labels 10 die (available at Simon Says) to cut out the image and added some bronze pearls.  The papers are Imaginisce - Garden Party and some kraft card for layering.

The "Owl be there for you" sentiment is computer generated using the font "Angela" and was cut out by hand.  I added a few Swarovski's to separate the image from the sentiment.

The inside is extra simple and just uses some more of the die cuts.  The sentiment is also computer generated.

Missed challenge no. 2!

Here's another challenge that I missed - last weeks Crafts 4 Eternity sketch (again!!). I'm a bit useless really aren't I!

The card was for my sister and her husband for their 3rd wedding anniversary - and to be fair to myself, I was just in the middle of a really horrible flu which I'm just getting over now.

Here's the card

I used one of my Sharing Sherbet stamps from Pollycraft and coloured her with my promarkers.

The papers are Laundry Line from My minds Eye. The Sentiment was cut using my tab punch form Stampin' Up! and I also used one of the tab stamps too.

I didn't get a picture of the inside but it was fairly boring anyway!

Sketch Saturday

I've finally got back to my blog after being away to Belgium, and can I just point out that I was right! Ferrari were in the lead when my post published! And then went on to win their first win of this season! It was great to be there and experience the whole thing - I'm looking forward to next year! :p
I'll try to post a few piccies later - but I have almost 300 of them, so it's hard to just pick out a few!

Anyway, onto my card. I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday

Here is my card

I must admit, I'm not entirely happy with how it turned out - it's not how I pictured it. I almost didn't bother giving it to my cousin, but I didn't have time to make her another one so I gave it anyway!

I coloured the Sharing Sherbert from Pollycraft image (which looks remarkably like my cousin!) with my promarkers.

Get Well Soon, Mummy

I finally got round to making a card for my ma, it's hard work being a carer - I'm so thankful that this is only a short term thing, I don't know how people can do it full time with no sign of getting better.

I had a hoke through my stamps to see what image I could use on the card - and I don't have any sick looking stamps (if you know what I mean! lol!) The best I could do was to use this Pollycraft stamp:

With the words "You fell over!" and on the inside I wrote "And then got plastered!"

And I used my flower nesties again!

I also used some of my brand spanking new nesties!! For the image and the wee florishes are shapeabilities too!

A quickie...

I wanted to make some sort of a box to put Rachael's present into but, as I'm so organised, I ran out of time and had to make something extra quick. So I coloured this image that I had stamped - which is one of the brand new Sharing Sherbert stamps from Pollycraft -I thought it was perfect for a gift bag along with a few nestie cut circles that matched my card:

That stamp is so versatile as the place where the writing is is blank on the main stamp and it comes with 3 different wording stamps - or you could write whatever you want.

I'm feeling blue...

In a creative way of course!!

I wanted to make a card for the Sketch and Stash debut challenge and I thought I could fit some other challenges in around it too.

This is the sketch from Sketch and Stash:

You also need to use new or unused stash for this challenge - no problems there then!

I used the colour challenge on Our Creative Corner which was to use 2 blues and 1 neutral.

I also tried the Spoonful of Sugar challenge which is paper piecing. I've never done this before so I hope what I've done is correct.

So here's my card

I've turned the sketch by 90 degrees. My new stash is my "Reflection" stamp from Pollycraft. Also the flower which is papermania that I bought in the MAC pound shop. Also the label nestibilities set which I used is new.

The clothes on the elf are paper pieced using DCWV paper from the "Rockstar" and "Once Upon a Time" stacks. And the rest is coloured with H2O's and distress inks (one of which is also new!)

I embossed the strip down the card with my floral fantasy embossing folder which I have since discovered makes the card fit 2 other challenges!! High Hopes challenge is dry embossing and the Cuttlebug challenge is to use your favourite folder - which this is!

That must be a record!! 5 challenges in one!
