The Sweetest Thing!

Wednesday 27 November 2013

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all keeping well - I thought I'd make it a hat-trick of song titles for post titles!  I love the U2 song and it actually came on the ipod (set on random) while I was making this card, so even more appropriate this time! lol!

I can't believe that this time 4 weeks we'll be waiting for the big man to make his way down the chimney!  Is anyone else as ready for it as me??  ie. not. at. all.!!!  That's part of the fun of it for me though, the mad panic in the run up and the first half of the day itself and then being able to relax and enjoy the rest of the time!  Did anyone notice that I managed a whole paragraph about a particular subject without actually mentioning the subject?!  But I'm sure you all know what I'm going on about!  Lol!

So another challenge for you today at the Creative Card Crew and our fabulous sponsor for this fortnight is the Scrapping Center!

http://www.scrappingcenter.com/
with a fab $15 dollar prize voucher for one lucky winner!

The challenge we have in store for you this fortnight is...

Sweet Treats!

So make us drool over all the sweets and chocolate and lollies and... oops, I got a bit distracted there!  Here's what I did:

My image is Creepy Cake Twist by The Greeting Farm and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin;E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair;E49,47,44,43. Dress;G24,21,20, BG01,000,0000, Y17,15,13, R22,21,20, E07,04,33,31. Shadow;W5,3,1.  I wasn't totally happy with my colouring on this one but I was in such a hurry to get it done that it had to do!

The papers I have used are Basic Grey "Nook & Pantry" and the sentiment is computer generated using the font Penshurst.  The fabby yellow skull is a bead and came from my stash along with all the diamantés, oodles of em!

The inside has been done to compliment the front.

And that's my card!  I hope you can join this sweet challenge at the Creative Card Crew - check out what the rest of the DT have done, especially all our newbies - give them a great big lovely welcome!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks; Anything goes

Blue Christmas

Monday 25 November 2013

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all keeping well?  I have another song title for my post but again, it's a fitting one!  I was in Dublin again last night at a concert by The Darkness, another one of my favourite bands and definitely one of my favourite live bands, if not my absolute favourite!  I have seen them so many times and have never been disappointed.  Last night was the first time we were seated at one of their concerts and we were on the front row of the balcony so had a fantastic view and got to see all the funny things they do that I would've missed if I was on the floor (cos I'm a shortie!) and Justin Hawkins is such a fantastic singer as well as athlete/comedian/fashionista! lol!  I love that band!

Anyway, A new challenge has started again today at Seems A Little Sketchy and we have 2 sponsors in the form of Kenny K

http://www.kennykdownloads.com/
Who are offering 3 digi's of winners choice

And Whoopsi Daisy

http://linnie-whoopsiedaisy.blogspot.co.uk/
Who are offering 2 sheet's of winners choice.

Here's the sketch we are using this time
http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.uk/

And here's what I did

I rotated the sketch and I used a Whoopsi Daisy image which I coloured with the following copics: BG01,000,0000,B39,37,34.E49,47,44.Y17.R02.

The papers are DCWV The Winter Matstack.  I used some new stuff that I recently got after a bit of a wait - my parcel got lost in the post and when I got in contact with the shop they said they would resend but the glue was out of stock so I had to wait until it arrived again, I was chomping at the bit to get using it!  I stamped some snowflakes along the top of the card and on the strip using flitter glu then I used "Manchester Tart" Megaflakes and a "scoochie" sponge to tidy it all up to make gilded snowflakes!  All the materials are available at Indigo Blu.  I can't wait to use it again sometime - it's lovely and messy! lol!
The twine, charm and gems are all from my stash and the sentiments were computer generated using the font simply named "Christmas".

The inside has been done to compliment the front.

And that's my card!  I hope you can join us at Seems A Little Sketchy, pop over to check out the fab inspiration for the rest of the lovely DT!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Allsorts; Bring on the bling
Charisma Cardz; Christmas
Crafty Creations Challenges; Ready for the holidays
Moving Along With The Times; Music inspired - Blue Christmas by Elvis
Paper Crafting Journey; Bling it up
The Paper Shelter; Christmas is coming
Sentimental Sundays; Winter wonderland
Stampin' For The Weekend; Feeling festive

Under My Um-ber-ella, Ella, Ella...

Sunday 24 November 2013

I don't even really like Rhianna (I'm more into my rock music!), but it's a fitting title!

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all well?  I had a lovely end to the week when my little sister got all dressed up to go to a formal with her boyfriend and the whole family turned up to wave them off! lol!  Here she is looking lovely!

And here's the Awwww moment when her and Ben first saw each other all dolled up!

Don't they look well together?!

And I thought I'd add this one in too - this is what happens when you get a few children to pose together!

And in all the excitement I totally forgot to do my post for the Alphabet Challenge Blog - it never even crossed my mind yesterday either - head like a sieve!

So our challenge for this fortnight is...

U for Use An Umbrella!

So I did this...

The image is "Emily Rainy Day" by Lacy Sunshine and I coloured her with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair: E49,47,44,43. Clothes & Umbrella; E09,07,04.G24,21,20.W9,7,5.E42,41,40. Sky; BG01,000,0000. Ground; E44,31,G24,21,20,

The papers I have used are from the J'adore collection by First Edition.  I used the following dies; Spellbinders petite ovals lg and labels 10, Dienamics Umbrella.  I also used a Stampin' Up! scallop border punch.  The sentiment reading "Feeling Under The Weather?" was computer generated using the font Lainie Day.  The pearls and gems are from my stash.

The inside has the same layout and papers as the front and I've added a sentiment from Waltzing Mouse's Fancy Phrases.

So that's my card, I hope you can join us over at the Alphabet Challenge Blog - go and see what the rest of the DT have made, they're fab!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Wednesday 13 November 2013

Hi everyone!

It's been another busy day and I can't wait to get to bed so I'm gonna try to make this short and sweet!

We have a new challenge for you today at the Creative Card Crew and a fab sponsor - The Scrapping Center!

http://www.scrappingcenter.com/
They are offering a $15 voucher to one lucky winner!

So the challenge for you for the next fortnight is...

Pearls!

Easy peasy!  Here's what I did for a friend who recently got divorced (sad in a way but also a good chance for a celebration!)

The image is "Friends don't let friends wine alone" by Bugaboo and I don't have my list of copics that I used for the image, but by the looks of it, I used pretty much all of them! lol!

The papers are Cosmo Cricket; Upcycle and I added 3 pink pearls to match.  The sentiment was computer generated and the 3 ribbons are from my stash.

The inside was done to match the front and I used a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Film Strip Sentiments set but without the film strip!

I actually had 2 friends who got divorced a day apart so I made my other friend a very similar card at the same time so it has pretty much the same layout and papers from the same set.  I used another Bugaboo image on it - this time "JJ Tequila & shoes - Instant fun".  Here's both cards together.

So that's my card(s).  Pop over to the Creative Card Crew blog to check out what the rest of the DT did!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz Challenge; Anything goes
Crafty Catz; Inspirational photo - I'm taking the celebration as my inspiration!
Daring Cardmakers; All the other reasons
Twisted Tuesday Challenges; Pop dots and polka dots - my image and sentiment are popped up and the backgound paper has polka dots.
Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Challenges; Anything goes

Walk Like An Egyptian!

Monday 11 November 2013

Good morning everyone!
I hope you're all well?  I can cross 2 bumps from the current baby boom off my list since my last post!  My cousin had her gorgeous wee boy (although we knew it was going to be a boy) and my best friend had her wee baby last Thursday and I'm very excited to say that she had a beautiful wee girl!  Yay!  I can finally get to make a pink card! lol!  Everyone else so far has had boys so it's nice for a change!  Just one more cousin (that I know of!) still to go but she's not due until February - oh and my lovely neighbour will go before that!  It's hard to keep up!

Anyway, we have a new challenge for you today at Seems A Little Sketchy and we are being sponsored this fortnight by the fabulous Whimsy Stamps!

http://whimsystamps.com/

Here's the sketch for this challenge

http://seemsalittlesketchy.blogspot.co.uk/

And here's my card using the sketch...

My image is Jackie by Tiddlyinks and I've coloured her with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair; 100,C10,8,6. Dress; B26,24,YR24,23,21. Background; E43,42,41,40. Sky; B01,00,000,0000. and I used a Sakura gelly roll metallic gold pen in a few place too.

I haven't used any design papers on this, instead I made my own using a swirly stamp by Umount and some antique gold frantage powder.  I used a blue ink pad and holographic embossing powder on the gold panel and I used gold and blue glitter to make the stripy panel by laying strips of DS tape onto a piece of card and then removing the backing of alternate strips before applying one of the glitters, then making sure to clean off as much of the glitter as possible I removed the rest of the backing and applied the other glitter.  I really liked the effect!  A few little golden pearls were also added to the card.

The sketch has been repeated on the inside of the card.

So that's my card, I do hope you can join us and make sure you check out the rest of the DT's work as well as having a look at the blog, it's had a facelift!  And looks gorgeous!  Check it out at Seems A Little Sketchy!

Expect The Unexpected

Hey everyone!

Going by my title, I should've expected the unexpected when my scheduled post didn't post last Friday!  I've only just noticed that it didn't and it has disappeared from my list of posts.  I don't know if I'm to blame or if it's another blogger glitch, I've been hearing of a few people having diffs but it might've been (in other words, probably was!) my error.

I wanted to tell you about a lovely crafter I met last Friday night at my sisters party, she makes and sells the most beautiful wee stuffed hearts and keyrings and christmas decorations as well as some other bits and bobs, it's always so nice to meet other crafters (and she was so lovely!) and to find one so close to home is a bonus!  Here's a link to Angel A's facebook page and etsy store - give her facebook page a like as she giving her 100th follower a wee prize!

Now back to the post that should've been!  We have a new challenge at PunkYouGirl and the theme for this month, set by our lovely Mo, is...

 Angels & Demons!

What a fab challenge and I must tell you, I was really challenged with this one!  My mind just wouldn't get into gear for it at all!
We have a sponsor free challenge this month, so it's just for fun and the DT were free to use whatever we wanted!  Here's what I did...

I used The Octopode Factory's Angel which I added a little tail to for a bit demontion (it's not a word!) I coloured her with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R27,20. Hair & wings; 100,C10,8,6. Dress & tail; R59,29,27. Background; C4,3,2,1.

The papers are by Pink Petticoat and are printed in Jet Black.  I mounted on a lovely red card and I cut the Spellbinder scalloped circle in the red and the print which I love!

If you take a closer look at the papers you'll see why you should "Expect the unexpected"!  Cos when you open the card I don't think you'd ever expect it to be like this!

Just for a bit of fun I made the inside a cutsie Christmas card - see, you didn't expect that! lol!

So pop over to the PunkYouGirl blog to check out what the rest of my talented teamies did and have a go yourself - and remember to check the blog again for the midway reminder to see what team 1 did!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

All Sorts; Christmas cheer
Dream Valley Challenges; Humour
A Gem Of A Challenge; Christmas is coming
One Stitch At A Time; Use a digi
Papertake Weekly; Anything goes with option of Christmas
Quirky Crafts Challenge; Make us laugh
Stampin For The Weekend; Spooky
The Ribbon Girl; Stripes
Twisted Tuesday Challenge; Free for all

Movember Thanks!

Sunday 3 November 2013

Hey everyone!
I hope you're all well?  I feel like I have a hangover today, I was at a party last night, but I wasn't drinking, it could be something to do with the fact that it was 7am before I got home from it though!  It was a good night!
I was at a pub quiz on Friday night too (the reason why I wasn't drinking last night - I can't do 2 nights in a row, I'm getting too old for that!).  Me and a few of the boys from work entered a team and we were so surprised to finish in 3rd place!  Especially saying as there were more than 3 teams entered in the quiz!  We're smarter than the average bear!  Lol!

But back to business and we have a new challenge today from the Pink Team at Eclectic Ellapu and it was the lovely Elaine's turn to host and the theme she has chosen is...

Black & White!

Fab theme!  I seem to using that theme a lot lately!

Here's my card for you, celebrating the fact that we are now in Movember!

The image is a stamp that I bought in Paperchase in the House Of Fraser in Belfast, I love looking through all their bits and pieces, I don't usually buy much though!  I stamped the moustache with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then stamped a Waltzing Mouse sentiment from the Fancy Phrases set with the same ink.

The papers are all from Pink Petticoat and are all in Jet Black.  I mounted on plain black card and I used a Viva Pearl pen in anthracite to anchor the corners of each layer.

The inside uses the same papers and layout.  I didn't add the pearl pen to the inside as I find it sticks even after it has dried.

So that's my card, pop over to Eclectic Ellapu to check out the rest of the DT's fab inspiration!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create; Anything goes
CRAFT Challenge; For the boys
Crafty Sentiments design Challenge; Anything goes
Paper Crafting Journey; Anything goes
Party Time Tuesday; Anything goes
Simon Says Stamp Challenge; Anything goes
The Corrosive Challenge Blog; Tic tac toe - centre row
Twisted Tuesday Challenges; Free for all
