A First And A Second!

Tuesday 31 July 2012

Morning everyone!
And a very early morning it is too!  Too early for me! lol!

I think I was a bit premature the other day in saying that the weather had picked up here as a bit later on the heavens opened and it has stayed wet ever since - we even had hail yesterday too :(  Hopefully we will get a summer at some point and it will probably be when school starts again!

Anyway, you're probably wondering why I've posted so early...
Well, I'm very excited to get to announce that I've been accepted onto a second design team!  The lovely Mari has accepted me onto the DT of the Creative Card Crew challenge blog!!  Me and 7 other lovely ladies and our first challenge is today!

The challenge is...

On the beach/Under the sea!

We've been sponsored by the fabulous Michelle Perkett who is offering a $10 voucher to the lucky winner!

Some of her fab images are also available in rubber at Sparkle & Sprinkle.

Here's my card:

My image is called Serena and I've coloured her with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20,37. Tail; BG09,18,15,13,11,10,YG91,Y00. Hair; E44,43,41,Y26. Tendrils; N7,5,3. Flowers; BG13,11,10,YR24.  I also used Dark Brown and Kelp Green Prisma Pencils.

The swirly papers are ones I've had for ages and there's no name on them but I think they're old Stampin' Up! ones.  I used lots of dies too - a large Circle die from Go Kreate for the base of the card which I folded in half.  Standard Circle and Big Scalloped Circles from Spellbinders for the image and sentiment.  Quinn Flourish by Memory Box for the swirly circle behind the sentiment.  A frame swirl by Lea'bilities and a Magnolia swirl cos I thought there just wasn't enough swirl on it! lol!
The sentiment is computer generated and the swirly font is called "I'm bored" which is an odd name for a font!  I went over the text with a dark green sakura stardust pen.  A few Swarovski crystals and it's done!

The inside hadn't got much room to work with so I used another swirl die and a few more Swarovski's.

So that's my card.  Head on over to the Creative Card Crew challenge blog and have a peek at the rest of the DT's fabulous cards and then get creative!  I can't wait to see you there!

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Not As Old As It Looks!

Friday 27 July 2012

Good morning everyone!
And a beautiful morning it is too - at long last!  We've had lot's of rain and cloud here in Northern Ireland while everyone else, it seems, was getting lovely weather - no fair!!  Pity I can't enjoy the sun today as I'm stuck in work :(

But anyway, today is Friday, so that means there's a 50% chance of there being a new challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog and today we're in luck!!
We're up to M and the lovely Shaz chose the theme of...

M for Men Only!

Always a tough theme so I made my card early - so although my card for today is for Father's Day, it was given to my dad on the actual day! lol!

Here it is:

The fun image is from the fabulous Bugaboo and is called Consciousness.  He's coloured with the following copics: Skin: E21,13,00,0000,R20.  Clothes: B39,37,34,16,14,12.  Cup: Y08,06,02 Hair: C9,7,5,3.  I used a clear Sakura glaze pen on the mug and his glasses.

The papers are Basic Grey Lime Rickey.  The sentiment is by Lili of the valley from the postage sentiments sent.  The buttons are from my stash.

The inside uses the same papers and the sentiment that came with the image.

So go to the Alphabet Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the design teams fab work and have a go yourself!

Anyone Fancy A Cuppa?

Sunday 22 July 2012

Evening all!

How is everyone?  I hope you are all getting better weather than we are.  I had a friend over visiting from Melbourne and we were talking about the weather and she said that it's not much different to theirs at home now - I had to point out to her that that's her winter and is supposed to be our summer!!  I never really used to care if we got any sun, being a winter baby, but after being on a few sunny holidays lately I can really see the benefit of a bit of sun.  So come on clouds, shift!!
Anyway, I'm sharing a card tonight that I made a long time ago, for my sisters birthday, and forgot to show.

The image is by Saturated Canary called Madhatress.  I coloured her with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Hair; E49,39R59. Dress; YG95,93,91,Y15,13,11,RV34,32,R00,39,27,24,BG09,49,45.  I also used a red Sakura stardust pen on the wee heart on the tag and some clear Sakura gelly roll pen on her shoes.

I also used Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap distress inks around the image.
The papers are My Minds Eye, Gertie Papers.  The sentiment is by Lili of the valley from the greetings postmarks set.

I used a corner rounder punch on all the layers and the image.  The ribbon and swarovski's are from my stash.

The inside uses the same papers as the front.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Summer Lovin'

Friday 13 July 2012

Good afternoon everyone

It's Friday once again - Friday the 13th to be exact!!  So be careful out there!!

One nice thing about this Friday the 13th is that it's another new challenge on the Alphabet Challenge blog, this time chosen by the lovely boss - Lesley!  We're up to L and the challenge is....

L for Lace!

We didn't have very many entries last time but I'm sure there'll be more with this lovely challenge.

My card was made for my cousin who got married last week in Spain - at least she got better weather than she would've got at home, it's done nothing but rain here for weeks!
Anyway, here's my card:

I used one of my favourite digi stamps again - You & Me Baby by Tiddlyinks.
Coloured with the following copics: Skin; E21,13,00,0000,R20. Dress: RV32,10,R00,E40. Suit: B02,01,00,000,0000,G00,BG10,C2. Hair: E49,39,35,33.

The papers are by Melissa Frances from the 5th Avenue pad.  The little heart is by Magnolia and I coloured it with a clear Sakura stardust pen and stuck a little swarovski crystal to it.  The frame and corner are also by Melissa Frances.  I die cut the Spellbinder fleur de lis square with my cuttlebug and computer generated the sentiments and punched with Stampin' Up! punches.  The ribbon and lace are from my stash.

The inside uses the same papers, ribbon and lace.  The left side is a pocket for the gift and the sentiment is from Wild Rose Studios.

So that's my lacy card.  Why don't you join us in this fortnights challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
