I can’t believe it’s been a week since the last WOYWW! But what a difference a week can make!!

I’ve tidied up! *proud moment!* And here’s the proof...

Look at that all tidy, and I’m even in the middle of making a card! I coloured, cut and blinged that heart last night so now it just needs to be transformed into something resembling a card.

And remember the piles of stuff on my other 2 desks last week? Check them out now!

I've put everything away apart from a few more stamps that need to be mounted and catalogued, I spent ages cataloguing the ones that didn’t need mounting (when did I buy so many new stamps??). I have added the basket to try to keep things tidy in the future.

I treated myself to a new TV and bluray player (in a not-to-be-missed deal!) and I can’t believe how much extra room it gives me compared to the old TV set-up. Good stuff!! More room to leave more stuff!! No, no, no! I will keep it tidy!

A Rockin' Birthday!

I always find men’s cards a pain in the backside to come up with! And as it was my brother’s birthday recently, I had a pain in the backside!! Lol

So imagine my joy when I saw the fantastic selection of stamps in the “Rock Squad” category on Kenny K Downloads?! Because my brother is a bit of a rocker ye see!!

So here’s the card I made for him...

How brilliant is that image! Stephen Tyler eat your heart out!! Coloured with my copics.

The paper (a single sheet I bought in some craft shop or other is by Glitz it now) is one I’ve had for an age, with making a card for him in mind with it, but not having the right image until now. I also embossed a piece of black card with a cuttlebug embossing folder. I added a couple of gromlets with my crop-a-dile (although I must admit that I’m not entirely sure what the correct purpose of a gromlet is! Lol) and some lengths of a fairly heavy chain, which I added some relatively rocky charms to.

The inside is fairly simple (well it is a male card!) with the sentiments from Kraftin’ Kimmie

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mummies out there! I’m a little late in saying it here, but it’s been a busy day. My brother, sisters and I got a lovely pamper day for my mum and my sister got one as well, I came up with the idea to do that so I could go too - genius or what?!!

I had a busy weekend tidying my craft room and I didn’t realise just how overdue it was for a good tidy up until I came across my Christmas papers! Lol! To be fair, I purposely didn’t put them away cos I thought I’d make some Christmas cards, but I just don’t have the heart for it at the moment so they're all away now!

Anyway, this is the card I made for my mum...

I followed a fab tutorial on Heather’s blog on how to make shadow box cards.

I filled my box with hand-made wound-up roses, which I added a Swarovski crystal bead and some glitter. The glitter went on a little gloopy, but I think I quite like it - it looks a little like rain!

The paper is Bo Bunny from the Vickie B paper pad. The sentiment is from a Kraftin’ Kimmie set and I added some Wild Orchid Crafts pearls to the corners.

I used the same papers on the inside

And finished it off in a matching box (I’ve been practicing tying bows, but I’m still not very good at it! And I have trimmed the ends of the bow since I took the photo.)

Hold On Tight!

I was asked to make a card for a 6 year old girl – that has to be the easiest age group and gender to make a card for, so it didn’t take long to come up with this

Which is an easel card

I used this fabby image from Mo’s Digital Pencil which I coloured with copics and I gave her some shiny shoes and accessories with a clear stardust pen.

The papers are DCWV Nana’s kids. I glittered a chipboard 6 with some soft pink glitter and attached it with foam pads to lift it out a bit. I used a sizzix die to cut the lettering for the name, which I also used the stardust pen on. The circles were cut with nesties.

On the inside, I used the piece of dp that I cut the circle out of for the front to make a panel, and then made a flower out of some Stampin’ Up! ribbon. I used a cute wee button from Crafty Ribbons. I attached a tag with some purple wire. The Happy Birthday is a Wild Rose Studio sentiment stamp.

WOYWW

It’s been quite a while since I joined in with WOYWW, and every week I mean to participate but I only remember when I get to work and have a sneaky peek at a couple of blogs.

So when I got home tonight, I figured, it’s still Wednesday, I might as well do it now!

And boy did I pick a good week to join in!

Just look at the state of this!!

As you can see, I’ve been busy! My mother’s day card is sitting on my cutting mat waiting to get the inside decorated, and there’s various bits of debris from that card and a few others.

You thought that was bad, just wait until you see this!!

Er... I don’t really know where to start in this one!! This the the smaller desk beside the one I work on and it’s where I dump everything that I’ve either used, yet to use or don’t know what to do with! Lol

There’s also a few new stamps in under the pile of “stuff” that I need to mount and catalogue (see I can think about being organised!)

The eagle-eyed may spot a dvd box set of season 1 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I’ve had that box set for the best part of a decade and had never actually watched it (I had watch the series on TV) so I watched it while I was making cards! I’ve come to the conclusion that TV series are good to “watch” while making cards, so I’m on to series 2 now!

I’ll also point out that the 2 boxes of sweets wouldn’t actually give you any kind of sugar rush – they’re full of buttons and beads!

And finally, the pièce de résistance...

My other little desk/dumping area which is covered in all kinds of papers that I’ve used some of or have kept out to use. A few more stamps and punches and that’s your lot!

Why is it that the smaller the desk, the bigger the mess??!

Hopefully I’ll remember to join in a little earlier next week and hopefully it’ll be a nice tidy desk that no-one will recognise – including me!!

I think I’ll pop over to Julia’s Stamping Ground to check out and see if my desk is in fact the most untidy, or if I just blend in with the rest!
