A nightmare of a day...

Wednesday, 21 July 2010

I've been having a horrible day today from when I got into my car to go to work, switched on the engine and you would've thought it was a washing machine full of stones!
Thankfully, where I work there is a garage and one of the mechanics was able to come out to look at it and long story short, I wasn't able to drive it.
The next thing I had to think about was getting it fixed - and I only have 3 days left on my warranty, but at least I'm 3 days on the right side of the warranty!
So, even longer story short, I'm now carless with a hire car coming (hopefully) in the next hour or so.

So please wish Bert well!

Anyway, on to a card.
This is the second card I've made for my cousin who's getting married at the end of the month.

I used the lovely sketch, that I think I might use again, from Just Magnolia.

Here's my card

Photobucket

I used this Tilda, who I think is meant to be a princess, but I thought she could get away with being a bride! I coloured her with my Copics.

Photobucket

The hearts are die cuts - a mixture of nesties and Cuttlebug. I glazed the inside of the top heart for a bit of bling! Flowers and ribbon from stash - the wee metal embellishments on the ribbon is from Stampin' Up! and the papers are Basic Grey, Sugar Rush.

Photobucket

And this is the inside

Photobucket

I also made a tag to match the card

Photobucket

Using the same heart dies as on the main card. I did glaze the top heart on the tag too, but not until after I took the photo.

And here's the set

Photobucket

Again, I made a box, but haven't taken a photo, I just added more of the same hearts onto it.

I hope you like it, thanks for dropping by!

I DO still know how to work this thing!

Hello everyone, I'm back!

I can't believe it's been 4 months since I posted anything! All I can say is that I've had the longest case of total crafters block ever! But it's slowly been coming back to me and over the last few weeks I've actually made a few cards! So, I thought I might ease myself back into the blogging world too.

And what better way than with a challenge! My friend Andria is a guest designer for the next couple of weeks on the Alphabet challenge blog, so I thought I'd show my support and enter it this week. The challenge is L for lace.

My cousin is getting married at the end of the month and lace and weddings are meant to be together!

So here's my card

Photobucket

I used the gorgeous stamp from the greeting farm coloured with copics.

Photobucket

Another challenge for me was colouring the darker skin tone, I'm afraid I'm not used to doing that so I'll have to practise a bit more.

I'm afraid I have no idea what brand the papers are - I've had them for ages and there was no name written on them.

Photobucket

This is the inside, complete with a little pocket for the gift (money!)

Photobucket

I have since made a box to go along with it, but haven't taken a picture of it.

I hope you like it, thanks for dropping by!

Elegant Tilda!

Monday, 8 March 2010

This is the second and last card I made for my sister for her birthday.

Photobucket

I used this lovely Tilda and sat her on a piano - my sister plays the piano (although she's not allowed to sit on it!), so I thought she'd like it! I coloured it with my copic markers.

Photobucket

I also used my new Martha Stewart punch around the page punches. Papers are Basic Grey, Wassail.

Photobucket

And I spritzed the flowers with cosmic shimmer mist.

Apologies for the blurry pictures - light wasn't so good when I took the pictures and I just couldn't get a good one.

Thanks for dropping by.

Deary me!

Another bout of absenteeism, but not quite as long this time! :p
This time I'll show a card that I made about a month ago for my sisters birthday

Photobucket

As far as I remember I used my Sugar Nellie Manga girl stamp, coloured with my copics and used Basic grey paper.

Photobucket

I made the butterfly with a nestie shape and curled it to give it shape. I added the beads to the card over the ribbon from stash and then the butterfly on top.
The sentiments were printed and cut out with a nestie and cut in half.

Photobucket

I finished it off in a matching box.

I hope you like it, thanks for dropping by!

Tuesday, 23 February 2010

This is a card I made for my friend who had her birthday at the start of February. This is also the frst card I made this year! And there hasn't been too many since :/

Photobucket

I used my new Martha Stewart stamp and punch leaf punch. I also used one of my new Magnolia stamps that I actually got ages ago - before christmas! My new copic markers were put to use on her!

Photobucket

And I used some lovely black lace to finish it off.

Photobucket

The papers I used are DCWV, all dressed up.

Photobucket

I finished it off by wrapping in black tissue in a box - plain white box for posting.

Thanks for looking.

Wayhey, I'm back on!

Sunday, 21 February 2010

Hello everyone!

Apologies for my long absence, but I couldn't get logged into blogger since I got a new computer just after christmas and lost my password. It is also down to me for not trying overly hard to find it mostly down to the fact that I haven't been feeling the best. Just after new year I got a chest infection which still hasn't cleared up and I'm just getting cold after flu after cold...

Anyway, I'm on now and have a few bits to sort out to show you but only a few, my mojo has been non-extistant since the new year, but hopefully this will start my motivation back up again!

Looking forward to catching up with everyone again!
