It was my sister's birthday yesterday, so I thought I'd use the oppurtunity to bring out my -yet unused - Gorjuss Girls!I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed colouring them. Here's the 8x8 card I made:The card blank is from Craftwork Cards, as are the little card candy spot things. I coloured my gorgeous girl with my pro-markers. the papers are basic grey Sultry and the brown velvetty spotty paper is Doodlebug Designs. I used my new retro flower punch for the flowers.I used the sketch from Tiets at The Sugar Bowl:Here's the inside:The colour theme I used fits the challenge at Cute Card Thursday which is marshmallows and chocolate - which funnily enough is what you call the colours of the set of card candy that I used! So it was perfect!I hope you all had a lovely Easter - and didn't eat too much chocolate!
Just thought I'd do a very quick post to wish averyone a Happy Easter!I hope you've all had a lovely day so far and enjoying the fabulous weather (it's gorgeous here anyway!) and that the rest of the Easter break will be just as enjoyable!
I finally got round to making a card for my ma, it's hard work being a carer - I'm so thankful that this is only a short term thing, I don't know how people can do it full time with no sign of getting better.I had a hoke through my stamps to see what image I could use on the card - and I don't have any sick looking stamps (if you know what I mean! lol!) The best I could do was to use this Pollycraft stamp:With the words "You fell over!" and on the inside I wrote "And then got plastered!"Here's the front of the card:I followed the sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar:And I used my flower nesties again!I also used some of my brand spanking new nesties!! For the image and the wee florishes are shapeabilities too! This is the inside with some of my new shapes in there too:
My mum sponsored my cousin who made her confirmation and she wanted me to make a bookatrix for her - I haven't done a bookatrix in donkeys ages so I said ok. To tell the truth, I'd sort of gone off bookatrixes, I think there's only a limited amount you can do with them (although I'm sure some of you v talented blogger out there could prove me v wrong!)I picked out some lovely papers and got going - and I thoroughly enjoyed making it! I was really pleased with how it turned out - and I'd never attached a charm to one before and I think that really made it!Here it is:Here's a close-up of the charm with a little cluster of beads that I put together:I think making a box for a card really makes it too - and you sort of have to with a bookatrix! She also wanted a money wallet to go along with the card, so I made this:This is it opened out:And here's the whole ensemble:I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to do much more to blog as I'm staying at home to help my mum and I don't know how much time I'll have to make anything. I'll try my best though!
I made a card for my brother's girlfriend to give to her dad for his 65th birthday. I've never met the man and have no idea what he likes!! I was given no direction on what to do apart from that he didn't want a big deal made out of his age. So after scratching my head for a while, I came up with this:I followed the sketch from BasicGrey Challenges - this is my first (hopefully of many!) entry to that challenge - I love basic grey papers!I cut the wording with my ROBO from the Archaic paper pad and I used my MS punch at the bottom. And on the inside:Update on my mum... Her wrist is badly broken, one bone broke and folded back on itself and hit off another bone shattering it into 5 pieces - I'm still saying eeuuuggghhh! She got it set today but may need to have an operation if it doesn't set properly. She's in quite a lot of pain but I think the fact that she needs help is bothering her more - and she knows how much I have on for the next while but I'll just have to sort something out.Anyway, better go and enter this as I've just noticed it has to be entered by 9 o'clock on friday night! Not like me to be last minute!!! Ha!
My cousin made her confirmation on monday and I jumped at the chance to use my glasgow rose cross stamp! I've had it for ages but never had the oppurtunity to use it.I also used the freebie stamp by Tanda stamps that came with the March issue of Craft Stamper.I used distress inks to stamp with and to colour with. I also used a small bit of paper from the basic grey "sugared" pad. And some swarovski's for a bit of bling!!I followed the sketch from Raspberry Ribbons - which was perfect for this style of card!Once again a very plain and simple inside as I once again ran out of time!On another topic, my mum has just been taken into casualty as she fell whilst out shopping and thinks she may have broken her arm/wrist. I'm just waiting to hear some word back about how she is / if they'll be ages (probably, in casualty) etc. Hopefully its not as bad as it may seem.
I made this one really quickly for a forum friend. Again I was fast running out of time, but got it off to her anyway!I used my lovely Whiff of Joy stamp coloured with pro-markers and mounted onto basic grey papers. Finished off with a bit of ribbon and a flora doodle with a squished fruit pastel in the centre! (not really - that's what comes with them!!)Here's the inside:Did anyone have any april fools pranks played on them - or did you do the pranking??!!We just did a silly one trying to fool one of my co-office workers that someone had reversed into her car - she was falling for it, but I couldn't keep my face straight and gave the game away! But it's after 12 o'clock now - so she can't retaliate!Have a nice day all!
